This song is a song from the 80s Called Sledgehammer

Now this is a famous music video since it has won many awards such as MTV awards and the best British video at the 1987 Brit awards
The video was directed by Stephen R Johnson who Directed many Other Music Videos

Also Adam Whittaker produced the music video  who also works with Aardman Animations with the Wallace and Gromit (animations which is a combination  of working with clay and stopmotion animation )

As you watch the video you can clearly see why the got Adam Whittaker involved with all the stop motion animation and the clay work.


This was in the 80s and in this era music videos were pretty different compared to the other eras
As technology advanced the same thing happened to the other music videos and more advanced animations appeared in music videos this happenes in this music video. Another good example for this would be the music video for the song by Aha-Take on me
Which also used animation techniques.

As you can see When you look at it in the past eras like the 50s and 60s this is nothing like them at all the music video has completely evolved from being something pretty basic that takes not much time to make whereas the take on me took 16 weeks to make.
